 MEETING SCHEDULE

Doc Fritchey TU holds its membership meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except for one month during the spring (Annual Banquet), some summer months, and December (no meeting).

The board meeting is open to the general membership, and starts at 6:30 PM.  Members who would like to present something to the board are asked to contact the chapter president before the meeting to schedule time on the agenda.  The featured presentation of the month follows the board and membership meeting.

GUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT OUR CHAPTER MEETINGS!

Next Monthly Chapter Meeting - Tuesday, November 25

Our board meeting begins at 6:30 PM, followed by our membership meeting and the evening's program.  This month we will feature fly tying demonstrations by some of our best chapter fly tyers; Rick LaTournous, Bill Kosmer, Karl Sheaffer, Sam Eshenower and Greg Silva.  Come and enjoy the company of fellow chapter members and learn some new techniques to improve your tying skills.

 SPECIAL EVENTS

Somerset, NJ Fly Fishing Show - Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009

The Somerset Show is a must-see for the keen fly fisherman.  Once you have watched the celebrity fly tiers (including CVTU's Tom Baltz, Bill Skilton and Tim Trexler) give tips as they tie their latest designs and have sorted through the new gear and bargains in the 275 booths, you can attend the seminars given by experts in their fields on a wide range of topics.

Travel in style in a luxury bus and be dropped at the door at about 10AM.  Be picked up at the door again at 4PM for a restful drive back to Carlisle, with a dinner stop on the way.  Arrive home refreshed and invigorated, all for the price of $50.00 a ticket. This includes show entrance (which is $15.00 if you go by yourself).

The bus will leave from Letort Park, East Pomfret Street, Carlisle at 7AM on January 24th.  Cars may be left in the parking lot between the road and the tennis courts.  We’ll be stopping at the Holiday Inn at the Grantville Exit (#80) of I-81 at around 7:45AM to pick up those who find it more convenient than Carlisle.

Tickets for the trip are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.  Please send checks for $50.00 a person, made payable to ‘CVTU’ to CVTU,  PO Box 520, Carlisle, PA 17013 and include a phone number and email address so we can contact you in the unlikely event of a snow-driven cancellation (it hasn’t happened yet).

Any questions, please email Paul Rouse at paulsrouse@comcast.net or call him at 486-4646.  Details of the seminars and exhibitors at the show will soon be posted at: http://www.flyfishingshow.com/Somerset__NJ.html
